How to Achieve a 5, 5, and A1c in the Eyelid
The eyelid tries to bring people's mean glucose and a1c up a little higher. There's almost no signal for microvascular damage below an a1c of 7, which is why these societies like the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association have these goals for therapy. If you're sitting down at a mean glucose of 110 or 120, you're likely going to see it increase toward 130 or 140 or 150. Some of those folks who enjoy being down there may be frustrated by that rise.
