Adapter Proteins - How Do They Work?
Anchoring proteins tether particular components of the signaling pathway to specific locations in the cell such as the plasma membrane or the nucleus. So that ensures that you get the signal in the right place where you need it. Proteins are quite common and they basically just sort of link things together. They don't really do anything directly themselves. A relay protein actually will move itself. And this is how the cells act as a very complex information processing device to integrate these signals and produce the requisite response.
