Job's Agony Leaves No Escape
In verse six, the lord said, unto satan, fine, behold, he is in thine hand, but save his life. He could somehow try to push back the negative emotions of things and and just steel himself against the suffering that remained outside of him. But have him suffer it himself? Oh, physical agony leaves no escape. So it goes verse eight: "He smote job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown" His wife then speaks to him in verse nine; she says, dost thou still retain thine integrity, curse god and die.
