In the seventeenth century two great methods were proposed, cartesian and paconian. And they are both important for modern science. The number of different motals dealing with things on earth started multiplying. We got a much better handle on many of the things that we normally dealt with. This knowledge density gave us what we call 'apparent knowledge' But when these philosophers produce models which give us such predictable results, then we get this kind of knowledge too.
