Baba's Mimicry - The Metaphor of Presence
Baba states that mimicry represents an ironic compromise. By mimicking the thing that is supposed to be, you know, this unchanging universal, almost a poria, it sees its undoing. Baba's whole discourse around negotiation wants to think of oppression as not being one way street. But memory creates self and must be constructed around an ambivalence.
