What Is Your Thoughts on Alien Language?

As a scientist, i see the depiction of my field of science in popular literature. And sometimes it's very accurate and sometimes cringe inducing. There are lots of fictional descriptions of how linguists might communicate with alien intelligence. Is there a particular fictional depiction that you find plausible, or at least amusing? We now study everything from the outside, including our own intelligence.
