The Importance of Dreaming
There's a reoccurring motif of him being sick and imagining an animal. He imagined or thought he had heard triscals footsteps, right? Yes. And that continues to permeate through the next couple of chapters. Cevarian didn't have any crazy vision in this particular dream. So it was just drug induced sleep or trying to heal... not having a dream about flying on a pterodactyl falling into the ocean.
