I don't think British people would say that British food was the best in the world. I made that up just to annoy people because people's prejudices against the UK include the fact that our food is bad. If you had to choose one nation's cuisine, to only have for the rest of your life, what would you go with? Or Italy is hard to beat - it's got everything. It's got the light dishes and it's also got the heavy meaty dishes and it has quite spicy dishes. So it's kind of got all bases covered. Well done, Italy. And ice cream. They're applauding you for your food.
