The Problem With Meditation
The sun is the true light of consciousness and the moon is in some ways the false light of consciousness, says Ishmael. The solar mind is particularly associated with masculinity while the lunar mind is associated with femininity according to Elifas Livy. But if you follow the symbology of the sun back to its root, so I'm talking like in Plato's Republic, the simile of the sun was very much beyond reason. This goes hand-in-hand with the idea of rationalism as the ultimate entity that can be abandoned once platonism is abandoned.
