The Role of Counsel in the Church

There's a misnomer in the church that counsels make decisions. The purpose of this moment of the counsel is to allow everyone to lay on the table how they see it. If I hold back and don't share with the president a different perspective, I am promoting an error in the decision. In case no additional light is given, the first decision shall stand. But if after a careful rehearing, any additional light is shown upon the case, the decision shall be altered accordingly.
