The traditional way of processing and refining lithium is to use chemicals. That process has a few challenges associated with it, such as working with lithium brines. We instead use electricity in much the same way a battery uses a chemical reaction to create electricity. It improves the purity of the products we make; eliminates certain parts of the supply chain.
