Resilience in the Face of High Impact Events
We've become more focused on the here and now rather than thinking about those sorts of things that might come up. There was an after 9-11 we put together a contest, the government's counterterrorism strategy,. The preparation for those kinds of major events involved thinking about resilience. And in some areas such as the physical construction of buildings, that's been taken to quite a fine art. So if you put up a skyscraper in London these days, you have to apply certain standards which will ensure management of the major risks going wrong.
