The Hand of God Visits Man
Man does visit God when he appears in his presence. We understand then how God does visit man as well by his severe judgments and merciful visitations of deliverance from troubles or by bringing trouble upon his chosen for their humiliation. Nothing can be more odious to God than to mock him in his own presence. Let every man examine himself with what mind and what purpose he comes to hear the word of God and with what ear he hears it. When God commands virtue and forbids impiety relax when God requires obedience you think it to your own condemnation mock God's threatening you will feel the weight and truth of them albeit too late when flesh and blood cannot deliver you from his hand.
