The Longshoreman's Soundtrack
The culture of the longshore, all those men working on big teams, loading and unloading ships was on the way out. This work was their cry of anguish. The system of containeration required a tenth of the labor of the old brake cargo methods. Poet jean dennis even signalled it in the poem he read on the tasia: my soul has been sucked dry and suffocated by the shadow of a forty foot containerrestored by outrage at the mindless echnolegen.
