Kripke's the Importance of Reframing the Concept of Necessity Versus Contingency

The central topic is the idea of necessity versus contingency, as applied to truths about the world. How do you know if a truth is necessary, as opposed to contingent and so Kripke's work clarified that notion. We tell the difference between necessary and contingent truths in part by reflecting on the meanings of the expressions involved. The book also tries to articulate what I call strongly metaphysical modal notions which are not clear how they should be applied.
