Raccoons in the City
Raccoons are of interest to the government because they are a vector for rabies. Raccoons have no predators in Toronto other than traffic, which is their big predator and disease. They're not rabid just because they're out in the daytime. Young ones learn to come out a little earlier so they can get first crack at food.
