Someone who is open to the possibility of actually being wrong all the time is much less likely to do things like evil acts or assume that others will be sharing their worldview. Although your ego needs you to be correct as much as possible, that does mean you'll always fall straight into these traps of lazy thinking. If you can't learn to control your ego, it will control you.
