The Legend of Ambrosius Aurelianus
Ambrosius Aurelianus is one of the few historical figures from post Roman Britain that we know anything about. He was a warlord who tried to establish order and perhaps survive after Rome pulled out in AD 410. There aren't many people, obviously we still refer to that time as the Dark Ages, there is quite a lack of reliable written sources anyway. Ambrosius has more impact than Arthur because he's probably got more impact on English dynasties afterwards. The Romans are not getting any information from Britain so they're left to their own devices.
