Beauty is a kind of wormhole that transports us to this other realm. When the philosopher experiences physical beauty in the world, what he's reminded of and moved by is that he's transported from thinking about the physical beauty that's actually in front of him. This isn't simply saying, oh, I'm only attuned to the beauty of the persons. Even if you listen to the kind of language that we normally use and just take the language seriously instead of metaphorically, that beauty of that kind can literally transport you.
