The First Evidence of Domestication
Archaeologists have been looking for animal bones and plants in archaeological sites that show the earliest traits of domestication. And then link to that looking for things like sickle blades, which would have been evidence for the behavioral practices of cultivation. We don't think it started there; we think perhaps it started in lots of different places around that time. It just so happens that's the area that archaeologists have kind of come across.
