The French Enlightenment - The Encyclopaedia

The encyclopaedia was the premier co operative project of the french enlightenment, organized and edited by dune didro. The idea behind the project initially was to collect virtually all human knowledge into a single source. And most of the great enlightenment era thinkers and scientists contributed essays on various topics,. including voltaire and montesquieu and rousseau. It eventually ran to 28 volumes, published one at a time between 17 51 and 17 72, representing the most advanced views on a wide range of topics, including politics.
