I like this idea of expecting the best, but then verifying. Expect the best of peope. Think that they have their best interest at heart. That's going to lead to much better outcomes an the vast majority of times. But verify. And if you find out that it isn't, call those people out,. because that ruins it for everybody, exactly. It is not just ethically acceptable to use the principles under those circumstances, it's ethically commendable. They're informing us into assent instead of tricking or coercing us.
