Do We Avoid Expending Energy or Effort?

Work is almost literally productivity. But it's not the only place in our lives where we exert effort. Much of leisure activity, I think it's sometimes called active leisure as opposed to passive leisure. Active leisure is like gardening or for some people, believe it or not, their exercise is leisure for them.
