The South Korean Government Has Eased COVID-19 Restrictions in Recent Months.
As of Sunday evening officials said 153 people were killed and 133 were injured. Nearly two-thirds of those killed, 97, were women. At least 20 of the dead were foreigners from China, Russia, Iran and elsewhere. An estimated 100,000 people had gathered in Taiwan for the country's biggest outdoor Halloween festivities since the pandemic began. The South Korean government had eased COVID-19 restrictions in recent months.
