The Longing for Heaven
The Eucharist is meant to change us, it's meant to transform us. St. John Henry Newman talks about the longing for heaven in one of his sermons. If we don't cultivate hearts on this earth, that long to be with Jesus, then will our hearts be ready to enter into heaven? The church knows that the Lord comes even now in his Eucharist and that he is there in our midst,. however, his presence is veiled.
