Distributed Systems and Cluster Architecture - What Measurements Do You Want?
I think it's an excellent point, especially if you look at distributed systems and cluster architecture. You also need to understand your distributed architecture and then understanding in which granularity of the units of architecture you want to operate on. This kind of problem used to be theoretic for most companies. It was, of course, a problem for larger companies always. But now it's like a commodity problem, so to speak. If you can't afford it, you don't have to do this compromise with metrics that is basically lossing compression. Lossing compression is only good if you cannot hold all the data.
