Orientalism is a great book and there certainly has been criticism as there is of any great book. I think that some people are very resistant to his kind of mode of analysis but it's, he makes very powerful arguments. It's like once you've seen it you can't see it there that the, you know, Asia understood as the Orient,. Because geographically speaking those perfectly co terminus were Europe and what was called the Orient.
