The Different Uses of Oil in the Bible
Oil is associated with healing and comfort. The pre baptismal anointing of the katik signifies what signifies cleansing and strengthening. Oil cleanses because people before and after bath, they would use oil. It limbers. So athletes and wrestlers would kind of warm up their bodies with with oil. And so it's just an emphasis, right? And so it’s a difference in emphasis. Just but they're different east and west.
