Moving AI Resources From Dangerous Research to Other Research

I think I'm being a bit reactionary with the article in general, which is funny. You don't go walk into this there and say everyone should slow down. If it does slow down how soon we get the next killer virus by one or two years that's also an additional one or 2 years to find the next mRNA or the next. We are squishy, squishy meat humans. We are very much influenced by things like emotions. It would be a better idea for you personally and for Google as a company and for the world if you devoted 25% of these engineers towards alignment rather than capabilities.
