The Voice of a Memoir
The voice of Lolita is missing, and that's the problem with the book. To me, it's not successful in showing us how a sociopath annihilates a childhood. I think it could be more powerful if we had the voice of the girl,. And that was, for me, at the heart of it, that was what was missing.
