Introduction
Many commentators see a jarring disjunction between the last couple of verses in chapter seven and the end of chapter ten. Mark thranfit argues that it would seem, in terms of narrative continuity, to make most sense to move directly from chapter seven to chapter 11. Besides ezra's role as a leading priest and scribe, several scholars believe this material originally belonged to the book of nehemiah.
