The Impact of the UK's Inflation Problem on Bond Markets
The UK has been, if you like, a kind of bearish source of news for global bond markets. As the inflation problem is worsened in the UK, gilts have sold off and rates have moved higher. If we do indeed find that inflation problem is lessening, I think that will go some ways to calm worries in other markets as well about runaway inflation.
