Clocks and Time

People who have power in society tend to use clocks of whatever definitions, sundials, water clocks, geared clocks. So the clock might enslave them, but it would also set them free. The sounding of the end of the shift was seen as an unequivocal signal that it was back to their own time. People have resisted that top down sense of order and control through history by fighting against clocks or fighting using clocks.
