The Electoral College: A Good Idea
If the federal government were restricted in scope, it wouldn't matter whether we had the Electoral College or didn't have the Electoral College. The problem we have now is if we do away with the Electoral College, we're going to have people in cities enacting federal regulations on all manner of things that are going to affect those of us who live in rural environments. We'll probably do an entire episode of this down the road because I can almost guarantee that when we get to the general election, whoever gets the Democratic nomination will be making the exact same argument for all kinds of political reasons.
