The Negative Effects of Pessimistic Answers
When I lecture in economics, the median answer is that our standard of living today is 50% higher than it was in 1900. 10 to 20% of the audience thinks we have a lower material standard of living now than 100 years ago. Most economists hear inaccurate and think you add on some random noise.
