The History of Creatine Phosphate
In the 70s, East German and Russian athletes were giving their athletes vials of creatine phosphate during competition. The water is held within the cells rather than external under the skin. Creatine stimulates a hormone called insulin-like growth factor one (IGF1) That's produced directly in muscle when muscles damage. It also promotes what they call myogenic factors that help build muscle.
