There was research on bat coronaviruses in Wuhan a thousand miles away from caves where closely related viruses were found. We don't have any evidence that such experiments were done using viruses that could conceivably be a precursor to SARS-CoV-2, the one that caused the pandemic. There's lots of evidence that research that's kind of in the realm of mixing and matching viruses was being done right there. So I find that just in, again, going past the initial giant coincidence thing, that extension of it, I find worrisome to say the least.
