The reason for these is hugely varied and very much depends on the cancer type. There are a whole lot of drivers on a cellular level, the insulin growth factor being one of them that impact that tumor micro environment. Some cancers have different drivers so I'm very interested in the gut microbiome and the impact that has on colorectal cancer,. But essentially think of cells gone wrong, body not detecting that and an environment that allows the cell to grow and replicate when it shouldn't be able to.
