There are so few international flights from Calgary there's like one air Canada flight to Frankfurt and that's it. 14 years later the FAA has finally got around to finalizing revised engine certification for bird ingestion. A big thing about the current bird ingestion test is it assumes the fan is spinning at 100% of its capabilities. The criticism of that going as far back as the NTSB report and safety recommendations is that the fan of the engine is not spinning that fast during climb out or during ascent.
