"I grew up hearing about all the, the crazy, what do you call them? The outlaw country people," he says. "And I thought, wow, this is awesome. I get to combine in my book one of my favorite musicians, his song and a story about Deming." He was referring to singer-songwriter Pancho and Lefty who died at age 14 during Spanish Civil War. 'You actually saw them, right? You actually saw towns, van, sand,' Lenny Kravitz tells him.
