The Origins of Nationalism

Nationalism has really started having a moment with Trump's ascendancy. The nationalism debates in Europe were often about the nation asserting itself over city states and smaller political units. It's a mistake to impute the classical 19th century European nationalism onto the current movement, it has evolved somewhat as a term and as a political movement.
