The Minor Strike and the Politics of G

There seem to be two key women who run through this book. One is Susie Sue and the other is Margaret Thatcher, in Prime Minister 1979. And particularly the minor strike is often, you know, you put a parallel light on what's going on with some of these bands. Let's have a listen to The Track 1984 by New Model Army. I mean, they were obviously very overtly political. That is very much the song about the minor strike and the kind of crackdown on it. They've not given up their principles either. Some of the playing with Nazi imagery, which a few bands did at the time, and I remember that period very well, offended a lot of people.
