A New Way of Barbarian Invasion
Vikings attacked lindisvarn in the 7th century. Why did these vikings show up at this time? We really don't know with any confidence, but it seems it probably was driven at root by population growth. People like goths and angles and saxons had suddenly charged out of their homelands in the baltic whether by land or by sea. They started attacking and seizing land and gold wherever they could.
