The Sustainable Development Scenario
The IEA has put together a sustainable recovery scenario that includes an economic case as well as a climate case and a job case. The report also looks at what would be needed to bend the curve even more steeply to reach net zero emission by 2050. If we were able to mobilize $1 trillion a year for the next three years, meaning 2021, 2022, 2023, in three macro areas, one is electricity and grids. Then we would be able to boost economic growth very significantly. 3.5% by 2023. Create 9 million jobs every year and put emissions in a structural decline in line with what the sustainable development scenario needs. So it's something that is within reach.
