Is There a Bracket Cramp on the Concept of Trauma?

There's been a widening of the definition even in medical terms, let alone in everyday usage. People will say very readily that they feel traumatized by things and this is traumatic to them. And I fear that using the most severe words possible to describe a range of things can affect people's emotional reactions. It can affect their feelings of victimhood, can affect their belief of capacity to cope. The individual sort of hunts for their trauma through the narrative.
