There's no evidence that COVID is seasonal the way the flu is. The reason we tend to see something of a surge in the winter is people change their behavior and tend to go inside. If we do have a new variant that is moderately more immune-invasive than the one than BA five, then if you put that all together, we'll have a mile to moderate surge. It's possible to be worse, but I tend to doubt it.
