In last year's survey, we noted that 51% of retirees actually retired earlier than expected. That percentage has increased to 56%. Many individuals have an expectation or an assumption for how long they're going to work at what age they'll retire. And when life happens, your job is no longer available and you have to leave the workforce perhaps to take care of somebody else in the family, that can throw retirement savings off course.
