Gilles de Re was once one of France's most celebrated generals. He had a taste for the torture, carnal violation, and murder of children. Gilles also turned to Satanism in an attempt to gain knowledge, power, and riches by summoning the devil himself. After he confessed to his crimes, Gilles and his accomplices were condemned to death on October 26, 1440.
