Russo and the French Revolution

Russo is often thought of as the theoretician of republicanism in France. He endorses broadly something close to freedom as non-domination. But he breaks with the other two ideas and this rupture I think leads Russo to create a Russoian republicanism which is almost a different tradition of political philosophy.
