Stephen Langton was a 13th century AD master of theology at Paris, eventually the Archbishop of Canterbury. He believed that all parts of us are ultimately subject liable to corruption. This as this philosophy of consciantia, sunidasis, rational connection to morale and as it develops over the course of the medieval era, this becomes intimately connected with the idea of free will.
